Section 1A 2024-25

I think everyone is overlooking Albert Lea will be good and I think will get 2 seed in this section.

Right now Northfield deserves the title as the team to beat in 1A but doesn't have the top end up front they did last year. They have a very solid blue line though led by Geiger and Riley and solid goaltending returning. I think 2-5 are separated by a hair with any of those teams capable of beating each other any given night. Waseca has a young talented core but the point totals talked about are inflated by a weak Big South schedule. Dodge County has a stud back in Ludvigson but recently lost their top returning defender as he decided not to play hockey this year. Albert Lea is always tough and returns very solid goaltending and a big skilled forward in Pirsig. They play a physical game and are tough to play against. Lourdes lost two seniors that scored a lot for them but bring in 8 sophomores from a solid Bantam AA team and have a good junior class as well and will have much more depth than last season. Red Wing could jump up a few spots if they have a goaltender step up to fill the shoes of their graduated senior. Northfield should be on watch though as I think they are a bit more vulnerable to an upset this year than last! Will be fun to see how it plays out.

SEMN Hockey Guy hit the nail on the head! It’s NFLD section to lose. Waseca is a year away but they have a great Sophomore Class. Sleeper team in section 1A I like Lourdes a lot this year!
